PALISADE -- Phyllis Marie Wineinger, 61, died Friday (Feb. 17, 2006), at St. Joseph, Mo., after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on Oct.27, 1944, in Benkelman to Harold and Margaret (Hanes) Merklin. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Warren Merklin; and infant sister, Dorothy; and a daughter-in-law, Alberta Nolan.

Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Nolan, Ervin Nolan, Jr., and Daniel Nolan all of St. Joseph, Mo; special friends, Ervin Nolan, Sr. and Warren Wineinger of St. Joseph; a sister, Hattie and husband Jime Shreve of Hastings; a brother, Wilber and wife, Joyce Merklin of Bird City; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were today, 2 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Chapel with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial was at the Palisade Cemetery.
