OBERLIN -- Bernice J. Brown, 80, died Tuesday (Feb. 7, 2006) at the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin.
She was born Nov. 17, 1925, to George Shuler and Elizabeth Meier in Selden, Kan. She attended country school.
She married James Kahlor on Jan. 28, 1945. He preceded her in death. She married Phil Brown on June 18, 1976.
She was an aide at the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center.
She was a member of the United Church and the Eagles.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Kahlor; four brothers, Fred, Clarence, Luther and Dean Shuler; three sisters, Bertha Landin, Dorothy Slaven and Evelyn Gould.
Survivors include her husband, Phil Brown of North Platte; stepsons, Nathan Brown and Roy Brown, both of California; daughter, Patty Schwartz and husband, Warren of Rock Springs, Wyo.; sister, Ruby Shuler of Oberlin; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Judy Stricker officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be today, until 8 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m.
Memorials are being accepted in her name.
