CURTIS -- Marvin Leroy Castor, 69, died Monday (Feb. 6, 2006) at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
He was born April 26, 1936, to Glenn H. and Martha E. Gugelman Castor in Orafino. He graduated from Stockville High School in 1953.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years. After being discharged, he worked for area farmers and trucking companies.
He married Roselyn Kay Presler on June 23, 1959, and they moved to Wichita, Kan., where he worked for Westinghouse Company. They relocated to Boulder, Colo., where he worked at Coors Brewing Co. as a supervisor for electrical maintenance.
In 1979, he married Wilma Hedrick. They made their home in Longmont, Colo. Upon retirement from Coors, he moved to Ogallala and later to Curtis.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Dale; and a sister, Claudine Cole.
Survivors include his mother, Martha Castor of Curtis; daughter, Shannon and husband, Joe Laudenschlager of Curtis; sons, Monte and wife, Elena Castor of Broomfield, Colo., and Marty Castor of Weatherford, Okla.; brothers, Doug and wife, Patsy Castor of Curtis and Wayne and wife, Diane Castor of Westminster, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Friday, 2 p.m., at the Congregational Church in Stockville with Raymond Durner officiating. Interment will be in the Arbor Cemetery in Stockville.
Visitation will be Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m., at Blase-Wetzel Funeral Home in Curtis.
Memorials are being accepted in his name.
