Hitchcock County boys crush Paxton

TRENTON -- Hitchcock County's boys crushed Paxton Saturday 64-34.

Hitchcock County's girls fell short against Paxton 49-34.

John Thompson posted 23 points for the Falcon win. Chancy Carlson tallied 11 points. Adam Wright and Josh Kershaw had 9 points.

"This was a good win for us going into GPAC," said Hitchcock County boys coach Mike Tines. "The boys played the whole game hard and smart."

Ryan Rhodes led Paxton with 20 points. Taylor Jay totaled 6 points. Jared McFadden had 4 points.

Lexey Lewis totaled 13 points for the Lady Falcons. Laken Cook, Trish McDonald and Elizabeth Sanberg had 2 points each. Ashley Garner led in rebounds with 8.

The Falcons were 10-of-14 in free throws.

Tara Bevridge led Paxton with 20 points. Hinden and Barger had 8 points. Elder had 3 points.

ARAPAHOE -- Eustis-Farnam's girls squeezed past Arapahoe Saturday 45-37.

"I'm very proud of my girls tonight. We played with great intensity and showed a tremendous amount of heart in beating a good Arapahoe team," said Knights' Coach Brad Dunlap.

"Hopefully we can build on this victory and get ready for two tough conference foes next week."

Katie Fagot and Jessika Lehman contributed 10 points to the Knights win.

Jordan Rieker posted 8 points. Chelsea Wolf and Tara Schultheiss led in rebounds both with 8. Lisa Fagot had 7 rebounds. Lehmann, Rieker and Jacey Schultheiss had 5 rebounds.

Cheryl Braithwait led the Lady Warriors with 17 points. Abbey Breinig followed with 12 points.
