Frances Marie Flaherty, 88, died Friday (Jan. 20, 2006) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
She was born in Utica on Jan. 25, 1917, to John and Frances (Conway) Sullivan. She attended school in McCook.
She married Patrick Joseph Flaherty on Oct. 13, 1942, in McCook. They made their home for several years north of Indianola, then moved to the McCook area in 1947.
She worked at the snack bar at A&M Drug Store. She also worked in the Dietary Department at St. Catherine's Hospital.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Altar Society.
She was preceded in death by her mother, at birth; her father; her stepmother, Clara (Wilson) Sullivan; her husband, Patrick in 2004; and a granddaughter, Kristi Flaherty.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane and husband, Larry Peterson of Denver, Colo; two sons, James Flaherty and wife, Fenella of McCook and Lynn Flaherty and wife, Linda of Holdrege; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, 10 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Rosary will be Monday, 7 p.m., at the Carpenter Breland Chapel in McCook. Visitation will be Monday, until time of rosary. Friends may sign her book at the funeral home or leave condolences online at www.carpenterbreland.com.
