Nila Valentine Riley Tackitt, 80, died Thursday (Jan. 5, 2006) at her home in McCook.

She was born Feb. 14, 1925, on a farm in Elgin, Kan., to Edward Harvey and Eva Marie (Moore) Riley.

She married Duard Levin Tackitt. The couple moved frequently for Duard's work. She moved to McCook in 1991.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Duard Lee.

Survivors include two sons, Ernest George Tackitt of Battle Mountain, Nev., and Robert Lynn Tackitt and wife, Dori of Reno, Nev.; a daughter, Patricia Ann Davis of St. Regis, Mont.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday, 1 p.m., at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel in Longmont, Colo., with the Rev. David Bradshaw officiating. Services will conclude at the chapel, cremation will be handled by Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel.
