WILSONVILLE -- Dale A. Murphy, 89, died Friday (Jan. 6, 2006) at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege.

He was born Feb. 14, 1916, near Wilsonville to Clarence E. and Margaret (King) Murphy. He attended high school in Nebraska. He moved to California in 1934, where he attended college.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1942 and served until October 1945. He then returned to farm in Nebraska.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, VFW Post 7719, the American Legion, Lions Club and the Amateur Radio Operators.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Robert Graden; brother, Jim and wife, Betty Murphy.

Survivors include his family of Wilsonville and a niece.

Private inurnment was in the Wilsonville Cemetery.

Lockenour-Jones Mortuary of Cambridge was in charge of arrangements.
