ARAPAHOE -- Floyd Wayland Robbins, 90, died Friday (Dec. 16, 2005) at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island.

He was born Feb. 25, 1915, to Ernest W. and Queenie V. (Jones) Robbins in Naponee. He attended Arapahoe Public Schools.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from April 1942 until November 1945.

He hauled cattle, worked for the Arapahoe City Maintenance Crew, farmed and was a handyman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in infancy.

Survivors include two sisters, Velma I. Philby of Oxford and Hazel M. Palmer of Everett, Wash.

Services will be Thursday, 1:30 p.m., at the Christian Church of Christ in Arapahoe with the Rev. Joe Stapleton officiating. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery in Arapahoe with military rites provided by Edison American Legion Post No. 343.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe and Thursday, prior to services, at the church.
