Cobb, Swanson wed
KEARNEY -- Julie Renae Cobb of Kearney and Gregory Gail Swanson of Harris, Iowa, were united in marriage Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at the Cornerstone Berean Church in Kearney with the Rev. Doug Shada officiating.
Parents of the couple are Dallas and Diane Cobb of McCook and Gail and Grace Swanson of Sutherland, Iowa.
Grandparents of the couple are Ardyce Bick of Moorefield, the late Harold Bick, Eldred Cobb of Stratton, the late Bob Cobb, the late Robert and Fern Johnson and the late Melvin and Winnifred Swanson.
The bride wore an elegant ivory gown featuring jeweled appliques on delicate French tulle lace over satin. The strapless gown was more heavily beaded at the bodice tip and was styled in a princess line dropping to lace edging the hemline and the semi-cathedral length train. She carried a fresh bouquet of deep purple mini calla lilies, blue freesia and blue delphinium wrapped in tea leaves.
Kendra Cobb of McCook, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristen Butterfield of Gothenburg, cousin of the bridegroom, Jodi Cobb of Loveland, Colo., sister-in-law of the bride, and Heather and Jill Swanson of Sutherland, sisters of the bridegroom. They wore indigo satin separates with a strapless empire style and princess line bodice with an A-line floor length skirt.
Kory Swanson of Sutherland, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Bridegroomsmen were Dustin Hicks of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Curt Stude of Brewster, Minn., Chad Hibma of Harris and Jason Cobb of Loveland, brother of the bride.
The flower girl was Sydney Swanson of Peterson, Iowa, cousin of the bridegroom. Ringbearers were Andrew and Tommy Lemon of Rapid City, S.D., cousins of the bride. Candlelighters were Eileen and Janelle Dekker of Centennial, Colo., cousins of the bride.
Ushers were Bobby Johnson of Cleghorn, Iowa, cousin of the bridegroom, Shane Butterfield of Gothenburg, Clint Hoermann of Royal, Iowa, and Jon Cody of Spencer, Iowa.
The bride's personal attendants were Kelly Krzycki of Omaha and Cassie Shaneman of Denver, Colo. Kelly Krzycki also served as the guestbook attendant. Gift attendants were LeAnn Johnson of Cleghorn and Allison Fischer of Austin, Minn., cousins of the bridegroom.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Jill Swanson, of Sutherland, and Kendra Cobb and Derek Beck of McCook. Christopher and David Dekker of Centennial, cousins of the bride, passed out bubbles.
A dinner and dance reception took place at the First Inn Gold in Kearney. Host couples were John and Karla Lemon of Rapid City, aunt and uncle of the bride, and Steve and Jan Fox of Columbus, aunt and uncle of the bridegroom. Cake servers were Marianne Kindsfater and Susan Dekker, aunts of the bride, and Sharon Johnson, Debbie Johnson, Ruth Fischer and Karen Johnson, aunts of the bridegroom.
The couple honeymooned in Florida and the Bahamas. They will make their home near Harris, where the bridegroom works for Hibma Farms.
