Wayne Allen Boyer, 83, died Monday (Dec. 12, 2005) at his residence at Willow Ridge in McCook.

He was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Red Willow County to Benjamin E. and Retha M. (Puelz) Boyer. He graduated from Danbury High School in 1940.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart and Silver Star.

He married Olive Grace Sidman on March 6, 1943, in Norman, Okla. The couple moved to Danbury in 1945 and farmed until moving to a ranch southwest of McCook in 1952.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive in 1999; his parents; and one brother, Jack Boyer.

Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Brown and husband, Winston of Indianola, Aliska Owens and husband, John of Benkelman and Becky Rautenberg and husband, Dennis of Caņon City, Colo.; two sisters, Kathleen Jankovitz and husband, Kenneth of Culbertson and Nada Nokes and husband, Melvin of McCook; special friend, Letha Turkovich; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and relatives and friends.

Services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at the First Congregational Church in McCook with the Rev. Steven King officiating. Interment will military honors will follow services at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell.

Memorials are being accepted in his name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
