NORTH PLATTE -- Florence Eggleston Clough, 97, died Tuesday (Dec. 13, 2005) at Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte.
She was born May 3, 1908, in Coventry, N.Y., to Henry Leroy and Carolyn Mable Spencer Eggleston. She graduated from Wallace High School in 1925.
She married Melvin Clough on Aug. 10, 1925, at Julesburg, Colo. The couple lived in Wallace, Dickens and Curtis before moving to McCook in 1946. They later lived in Lincoln and Holyoke, Colo., before returning to McCook.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Henry Spencer Eggleston; and a grandson, Bruce Clawson.
Survivors include her daughter, Wanda J. and husband, Jack Stein of Raleigh, N.C.; two sons, Wayne R. and wife, Helen Clough of Omaha and George E. and wife, Linda Clough of North Platte; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
Services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at the Odean Colonial Chapel in North Platte with the Rev. Amy Jo Hawley officiating. Interment will be at the Dickens Cemetery in Dickens, at 1:30 p.m.
Visitation will be Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m., and Friday, prior to services, at the Odean Colonial Chapel.
Memorials are being accepted in her name at the First Presbyterian Church.
