ATWOOD -- Robert Charles Miller, 85, died Friday (Dec. 9, 2005) at the Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.
He was born May 17, 1920, to John Jacob Miller III and Naomi Beryl (Dillon) Miller in Atwood. He attended two years of college.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Lorene Bricker on Aug. 22, 1941, in Rawlins County. She preceded him in death in 1984.
He worked as a farmer. He was a member of the Atwood Masonic Lodge AF&AM, American Legion Sam Hubbard Post No. 16 and the United Methodist Church of Atwood.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; brother, John Jacob Miller IV; a granddaughter, Natalie Miller; and his long-time special partner, Bernice McDougal in 2001.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Charles Miller of Tacoma, Wash., and Donn Jacob Miller of Colby, Kan.; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at Brantley Funeral Home in Atwood with the Rev. Terry McGuire officiating. Interment will be in the Atwood Fairview Cemetery.
Memorials are being accepted in his name.
