OBERLIN -- John A. "Jack" Lamb, 81, died Tuesday (Dec. 6, 2005) at the Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.

He was born Oct. 18, 1924, in Grant to Charles E. Lamb and Emma J. Welding. He graduated from Perkins County High School.

He served in the U.S. Marines.

He married Lois G. Jordan in Grant. He was a jeweler and owned a business in Oberlin.

He managed the Oberlin American Legion Post No. 70 and was a member of the VFW and the Second Marine Division Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Patricia Lamb; brothers, Myron and Charles Lamb; and sister, Elaine Lamb.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Lamb of Oberlin; son, John A. Lamb Jr. and wife, Francheska of Topeka, Kan.; sister, Cleone Armstrong and husband, Thurman of Arizona City, Ariz.; and two stepgrandsons.

Services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin with the Rev. George Kochuvelikkakam. Interment will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell.

Visitation will be today, until 8 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home.

Memorials are being accepted in his name at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin.
