BEAVER CITY -- David Walter Buss, 52, died Tuesday (Nov. 29, 2005) at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege.
He was born Nov. 9, 1953, in Gothenburg to Walter and DeVona (Max) Buss. He graduated from Cozad High School in 1972.
He married Cheryl (Smith) Bates on Nov. 21, 1981, in Lexington. The couple moved to Beaver City in 1989.
He worked for Smith Brothers Farms, New Holland and was a corrections officer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Raymond.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl of Beaver City; two sons, Jimmy and wife, Carole Bates of Lincoln and Ronald Buss of Kearney; two daughters, Shirley Longo and husband, Chris of Cozad and Jennifer Bates of Beaver City; two brothers, Robert Buss and Steve Buss and wife, Carolyn, all of Cozad; two sisters, Carolyn Buss and Shirley and husband, Glenn Schlichenmaier, all of Cozad; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 1:30 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City with Keith Theobald officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Beaver City.
Visitation will be today, until 8 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and Saturday, prior to services, at the church.
