HERNDON -- Genevieve Eula Kristina Henningsen, 82, died Tuesday (Nov. 29, 2005).
She was born Aug. 28, 1923, in rural Rawlins County to Olof W. Erickson and Christina Marie Westman. She attended Linda Country School and graduated from Decatur Community High School.
She married Carl Ernest Henningsen on Nov. 20, 1942, at the Herndon Covenant Church. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Herndon Covenant Church, Golden Rule and Hobby Club and was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher and choir leader.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Henningsen; five brothers, Oscar, Albert, Paul, Algoth and Elof Erickson; and two sisters, Agnes Thoren and Emma Erickson.
Survivors include son, Anthony Carl Henningsen and wife, Patricia of Oberlin; daughter, Marsha Espenson and husband, Robert of Bingham Lake, Minn.; brother, Erik Erickson and wife, Jean of Colby, Kan.; sister, Mildred Lang of San Leandero, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Tillie Henningsen of Atwood and Elma Lee Erickson; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Herndon Covenant Church with the Rev. Keith Reuther officiating. Interment will be at the Herndon Covenant Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, 1-8 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin and Saturday, 10 a.m., at the church. The family will receive friends Friday, 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
