Crash victims identified

LINCOLN -- The Nebraska State Patrol has identified the three victims of a Sunday, November 28, 2005, single engine plane crash near Atlanta, in Phelps County, Neb.

Killed in the crash were the pilot, 24-year-old Daniel M. Walker (DOB 10-28-81), and passengers 20-year-old Heather Boatman (DOB 3-8-85), and 3-year-old Kaylee Walker (DOB 5-1-2002). All three aboard the plane were from Morris, Illinois, a community just west of Chicago. Ms. Boatman was the fiance of Daniel Walker. Kaylee Walker was his daughter.

The 1968 Piper 140 registered to Daniel Walker, crashed into a broadcast tower owned by Nebraska Educational Radio and Television (NET), around10:45 a.m. on Sunday. The tower landed on a building, housing broadcast equipment, causing roof damage. No one on the ground was injured.

The cause of the crash has not been determined. The Federal Aviation Administration has been called into investigate.

The Phelps County Sheriff's Office and Phelps County Attorney Tim Hoeft assisted the Patrol in its investigation.
