Laura Lyons and Aaron Plas announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. Parents of the couple are Philip and Diane Lyons of McCook, Jeff Plas of Elyria, Ohio, and Jim and Patty Phinney of McCook. Grandparents of the couple are Phillys Lyons of McCook, Dorothy Wilson of Lincoln and Ann Plas and Robert and Dorothy Bechtel, all of Ohio. The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of McCook High School and is pursuing a degree in secondary education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She is employed as the undergraduate assistant to the dean of admissions at UNL. The prospective bridegroom is a 2002 graduate of McCook High School and is pursuing a degree in business education from UNL. He is employed at the Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln. The ceremony is planned for Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook.
