Larry Eugene Colby, 57, died Sunday (Nov. 13, 2005) at his home in McCook.

He was born Nov. 28, 1947, at Phillipsburg, Kan., to Benjamin and Geneva (Arment) Colby. He attended Phillipsburg High School.

He married Faye Harrison on Sept. 17, 1981, in Oberlin. They made their home in McCook.

He worked in the oil fields and owned a tree service before working for Burlington Northern Railroad.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Eugene Allen Colby; two brothers, Neal Colby and Gary Colby; and one sister, Dorothy Colby.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Colby of McCook; one son, Jason Colby and wife, Brandie of McCook; one daughter, Teresa Kipp of McCook; three stepchildren, Richard Kramer and wife, Kim of Atwood, Teri Desrocher and husband, Dave of Exeter, Mo., and Micky Saville; three brothers, Don Colby and wife, Delores of Dixon, Mo., Darrell Colby and wife, Shirley and Howard Colby and wife, Rita of Phillipsburg; one sister, Marlene Gonzales of McCook; relatives; and friends.

Services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating. Inurnment will be Saturday, 1 p.m., in Phillipsburg.

Memorials are being accepted in his name at Herrmann Funeral Home of McCook, which is in charge of arrangements.
