TRENTON -- Clara Wagner Metzer, 107, died Tuesday (Nov. 8, 2005) at the ElDorado Manor in Trenton.
She was born to John and Marie Katherine (Eisenach) Wagner on March 23, 1898, in Culbertson. She attended Culbertson Public Schools.
She married Loyd H. Metzer on Feb. 23, 1927. They made their home in Culbertson where she was a homemaker and a U.S. Post Office clerk for 18 years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson. She received her 75 year pin in October 1989.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loyd in 1968; son-in-law, Kenneth Brenning; daughter-in-law, Mary Annette Metzer; five brothers, Geoffrey, William, Solomon, John and Albert; seven sisters, Emalia "Molly," Sarah, Amelia, Esther, Rose and infants, Mary Katherine and Margaret.
Survivors include her children, Marvin Metzer and Thelma Brenning, both of McCook; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson, with the Rev. Richard Melano officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.
