Southwest, Hayes Center spikers roll to victories

MEDICINE VALLEY -- Southwest's volleyball team took another win in the Medicine Valley triangular on Thursday.

The Roughriders beat out Dundy County and Medicine Valley to take the win.

Heather Teel led Southwest in assists.

Chelsey Quigley tallied the points against Dundy County and teammate Kelsey Coolidge was the top scorer against Medicine Valley.

Southwest gears up to host the GPAC tourney on Monday and Tuesday.

HAYES CENTER -- Hayes Center's volleyball team won their three sets against Maywood on Thursday.

"We continue to improve each game," said Cardinals coach Chris Rippen.

"This was a much needed win for us heading into the GPAC tourney."

Becca Gigax totaled 15 points and 13 aces for the Cardinals.

Dove Messersmith led in assists and teammate Terra Bishop led in hitting with 13 kills and four ace blocks. Lichelle Large was 12/12 in digs.

Hayes Center competes in the GPAC tourney at Southwest on Monday and Tuesday.
