Cambridge, Southern Valley football teams post shutouts

CAMBRIDGE -- The Cambridge Trojans overwhelmed Sutherland in football on Thursday 47-0.

The Trojans led out in the first quarter and keeping the Sailors at bay. Anthony Lytle scored first with Waid Vontz making the extra point pass.

Lytle then passed 23 yards to Vontz.

Brett Cribelli passed 24 yards to Vontz with Josh Keener making the extra point.

Vontz ran another seven yards to finish the second.

Vontz and Lytle both ran in the third with Keener making the kick both times.

Vontz ran 11 yards and Lytle ran 8. Alex Wusk ran one yard for the Trojans to finish the game.

Southern Valley 21, Superior 0

SOUTHERN VALLEY -- The Southern Valley Eagles turned out a big win Thursday against the Superior Wildcats 21-0.

Both teams were scoreless in the first quarter, but the Eagles pulled a touchdown in each one of the last three quarters to finish ahead.

Jacob Becker led the Eagles with a 17 yard run up the middle with Taylor Lueking making the kick in the first.

Andrew Winscot had a 15 yard pass by Gavin Fultz in the second with Lueking making the extra point again.

Kyle Lockridge scored in the fourth with a one yard run up the middle and Lueking with the kick.
