MCC JV spikers edge NCTA

CURTIS -- The McCook Community College Indians junior varsiy volleyball team and the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture Aggies had a slugfest Thursday evening in Curtis.

The Indians won the closely fought battle with scores of 28-30, 32-30, 30-26, 30-21.

As the scores indicate, the teams played close games the entire evening. Never was there more than a 10-point lead by either team.

For the winners, it was Lindsey Hartman with 19 kills and Kate Voss with 16 kills and 7 ace blocks. For the Aggies, Codi Staub had 17 kills and 4 ace blocks. Jenny Prior added 13 kills and 2 ace blocks while teammate Sarah Strohl was perfect from the service line with 14-for-14.

Emily Cone added 11 kills and Kaytlyn Cooksey was almost errorless with her sets.

The Aggies (8-7) finish the season Tuesday night at home with a triangular with club teams from UNK and North Platte.
