LINCOLN -- Alfred W. Kuper, 88, died Sunday (Oct. 16, 2005).

He was born on Aug. 31, 1917, in Nelson to F.C.E. and Caroline (Paschold) Kuper.

He was an agricultural educator at Crete High School in Crete and served as president of McCook College. He was in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was also coordinator of Adult Education for the State of Nebraska.

He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 3, VFW Post 131 and 3606, Nebraska N Club, Kiwanis, Elks Club and the Nebraska Education Association. He was a member and sponsor of FFA and Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie June Kuper of Lincoln; daughters, Jane E. and husband, Gary E Raetz of Omaha and Judith K. and husband, Bruce W. Sweney of Lincoln; brother, Clarence Kuper; five grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday, 11 a.m., at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lincoln with the Rev. David Lux officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 2-8 p.m., with the family greeting friends, 5-7 p.m., at Metcalf Funeral Home in Lincoln. Condolences can be left at www. metcalffh.com.

Memorials are being accepted in his name at the University of Nebraska Foundation, Alfred W. Kuper Memorial Fund.
