OBERLIN -- Axie I. Sass, 79, died Saturday (Oct. 8, 2005) at the Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.
She was born Dec. 15, 1925, to Charlie A. Still and Anna J. Stewart in Oberlin. She graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1945.
She married Ross McVay on June 20, 1945, in Oberlin. He preceded her in death in 1956. She married Paul Sass on July 18, 1964, in Oberlin.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the United Church of Oberlin and the Royal Neighbors of America.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ross McVay; a brother, Lee Still; and a sister, Bonnie Rollins.
Survivors include her husband, Paul S. Sass of Oberlin; son, Mike McVay and wife, Marie of Colby, Kan.; daughter, Leanna L. Roberts and husband, Bill of Abilene, Kan.; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin. Interment will be at the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be today, until 8 p.m., and Tuesday, from 8 a.m. until time of service, at Pauls Funeral Home.
Memorials are being accepted in her name at the United Church of Oberlin and the Cedar Living Center.
