Wallace spikers down Cards

WALLACE -- Wallace's volleyball team won three out five sets against Hayes Center Friday 22-25, 18-25, 25-13, 25-18, 15-7.

Hayes Center led in the first two sets, but Wallace stepped it up in the last three.

"The girls showed tremendous character tonight," said Wallace coach Kory Rohde. "Hayes Center played extremely well and got all the breaks in the first two sets, but we battled back and finished' strong."

Ashton Harris shared serving duties with Ashley Whitson each scoring ten points. Harris also led in blocking with Whitney Hochstetler.

Hochstetler led the team in kills with 17 and Jessica Smith had 15 assists. Wallace is now 11-2.

Dove Messersmith led the Cardinals in points and setting. Terra Bishop and Lichelle Large traded places in blocks and hitting.

wins quad

STAPLETON -- Eustis-Farnam's volleyball team won the quad against Maxwell, Arnold and Stapleton Thursday.

Maxwell won the first run 14-4, but the Knights came back scoring the first six points. It was back and forth again in the second, but the Knights still came out on top.
