Matthew W. Lafferty

HERSHEY -- Matthew Warren Lafferty, 12, died Friday (Sept. 30, 2005) as the result of an accident.

He was born March 10, 1993, in North Platte to Mark and DeAnna Kettering Lafferty. He was a 7th grader at Hershey Public School.

He was a member of the North Platte Berean Church, Boy Scout Troupe No. 293, Cub Scout Pack No. 247 and the school band.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Wayne Lafferty; great-grandfathers, Garland Tillman and Cecil Kettering; and uncle, Lee Kettering.

Survivors include his parents; one sister, Kelsey Lafferty of Hershey; one brother, Justin Lafferty of Hershey; grandparents, LeRoy and Dyette Kettering of Hershey and George and June Lafferty-Cooper of Grainfield, Kan.; great-grandmothers, Florence Hazel Tillman of North Platte and Dora Kettering of Denver, Colo.; and numerous aunts, uncles, including uncle, Winston and wife, Deb Lafferty of McCook and aunt, Penny Brown of Culbertson; cousins and other family members and friends.

Services will be Tuesday, 10 a.m., at the North Platte Berean Church with the Rev. Tom Walker officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Sutherland.

Visitation is today, until 9 p.m., at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte.

Memorials are being accepted in his name.

Adams and Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte is in charge of arrangements.
