LINCOLN -- Jaclyn Dawn Hopkins and Darrick John Manning, both of Lincoln, were united in marriage Saturday, June 18, 2005, at First Plymouth Congregational Church in Lincoln. The Rev. Dr. Otis Young officiated.

Parents of the couple are Don and Kerry Hopkins of McCook and Myron and Kathy Manning of Shelton.

Grandparents of the couple are Lloyd and Hazel Naden of Franklin, the late George and Bessie Hopkins, Catherine Manning of Shelton, the late Henry Manning and the late Don and Donna O'Brien.

The bride wore a floor-length, white, satin, halter-neck gown trimmed with pearls and crystals. She had a chapel-length veil trimmed in tiny pearls. She carried a fresh, full cascading lavender bouquet with accents silver and lavender ribbon.

Tracy Rollins and Bridget Oliva, both of Lincoln, served as maid and matron of honor, respectively. Katie Honz; Aly Eveland; Amy Bruneau; Holly Manning, sister of the bridegroom; and Jessica Mikolocyk were the bridesmaids.

Tim O'Brien, brother of the bridegroom, was the best man and Joe Oliva was the patron of honor. The bridegroomsmen were Jason Manning, cousin of the bridegroom; Brandon Paeper; Drew Munson; Greg Brockmeier; and Josh Sothan.

The flower girls were Claire Bruneau and Jordan O'Brien, cousin of the bridegroom. The ring bearers were Noah Carmichael and Braiden Oliva. The candlelighters were Brandi Chulufas and Ashley Kalkwarf. The scripture reader was Jennie Martin of Lincoln.

The ushers were Danny O'Brien, uncle of the bridegroom; Logan Bruner, cousin of the bridegroom; and Andrew Naden, cousin of the bride. The bride's personal attendant was Traci Schelle of Chandler, Ariz.

There was a reception following the ceremony at the Havelock Social Hall in Lincoln. There was a five-tier wedding cake with lavender flowers and trim, set atop a lavender flowing fountain. Host couples for the reception were Mike and Meg Chulufas and Carl and Donna Bruner, uncle and aunt of the bridegroom.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of McCook High School. She received her bachelor's degree in communication studies from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2002. She is employed as an underwriter for the town department of Farmer's Mutual Insurance Company of Nebraska.

The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate of Centura High School near Cairo and attended Southeast Community College and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He works for the State of Nebraska as a correctional officer at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center in Lincoln.

After a honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico, the couple is making their home in Lincoln.
