OMAHA -- Steven Lynn Jones, 53, died Tuesday (Sept. 27, 2005) at his home in Omaha.
He was born Dec. 9, 1951, in McCook to Kenneth D. and Barbara J. (Neilson) Jones. He graduated from Wilson High School in Wilson, Kan., in 1970.
He entered the U. S. Army and served during the Vietnam War era.
He returned to McCook where he married Chris Padgett. The couple moved to Kent, Wash., where he was employed in the ship yards. He returned to McCook in 1992 and moved to Omaha in 2000.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Patricia Lou Jones.
Survivors include a daughter, Shanda Jones of Seattle, Wash.; four brothers, Kenneth L. Jones and wife, Jane of Bellevue, Sam Jones and wife, Linda of Berthod, Colo., Mike Jones and wife, Jennifer of McCook and Dan Jones and wife, Amy of McCook; one granddaughter; and relatives and friends.
Services will be Monday, 10:30 a.m., at the Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.
Memorials are being accepted in his name at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook.
