NORCATUR, Kan. -- Wilbur Logan Hix, 88, died Wednesday (Sept. 28, 2005) at the Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kan.
He was born Oct. 12, 1916, in Norcatur to John Wilbur and Cecil Inez (Logan) Hix. He attended rural grade school and Norcatur High School.
He married Lula Kintigh on Oct. 12, 1937, in Oberlin. The couple made their home in Norcatur where Wilbur was a farmer and rancher.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Sappa Valley Golf Course and the Norcatur Commercial Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter; and one brother-in-law, John Reid.
Survivors include his wife, Lula; one son, Larry Hix and companion, Susan Weinstein of Pasadena, Md.; two daughters, Linda and husband, Bill Young of Conifer, Colo., and Lynn and husband, Ed Wedow of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one brother, Francis and wife, Arlene Hix of Norcatur; one sister, Betty Reid of Norton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at the Enfield Funeral Home in Norton. Inurnment will be at the Norcatur Cemetery in Norcatur.
Memorials are being accepted in his name at the Norcatur Cemetery Fund, the Norcatur Highway Fund and the Norcatur United Methodist Church.
