Jim Gastor, left, of Indianola, explains to fourth graders at Central Elementary the many ways the American Indians used the buffalo. Gastor, along with wife Marilyn and son Jeremy, was at Central on Thursday giving outdoor demonstrations of how the American Indians lived on the plains. He said this area was highly prized for the hunting, and so was frequently the site of many skirmishes between the tribes. The family's "Beaver Buckets" reproduction wooden buckets and containers have been used as props in many historical movies and on display in museums.
