WAUNETA -- The Wauneta-Palisade volleyball team beat out Leyton in four sets Friday.

Kiane Alberts, Myra Brown and Betsy Anderjaska led the Broncos in hits.

Alberts had nine kills, Brown and Anderjaska both had four kills. Stephanie Padilla had 22 assists, scoring 14 points and two aces.

Freshman Blair Dixon went 3-for-4 with two ace blocks. Brown also scored 18 points, had five digs and one ace. Alberts also had five digs.

win home triangular

CAMBRIDGE -- Cambridge's volleyball team won their own Triangular against Arapahoe and Hitchcock County, Thursday.

The Trojans played two very close sets with Arapahoe to take the win.

Kymbre Lytle, Shelby Schultz and Bailey Soucie led Cambridge. Lytle and Schultz tallied the points, digs and kills, while Soucie totaled 33 assists.

Abbey Breinig led the Warriors with three kills, one solo block and two assists and three aces. Alesa Pauls shared hitting duties with Breinig with three kills.

Sarah Urbom and Hollie Thomas led in setting and defense. Urbom had 26 digs, while Thomas had four assists and 26 attempts.

Grace, Botsford compete

in Cozad Tae Kwon Do meet

COZAD -- Kayla Grace of Indianola and Robert Botsford of McCook competed in the Mid-Platte Valley Tae Kwon Do Invite in Cozad Saturday.

Grace competed in the Blue Belt Division coming in first in forms and sparring.

Botsford competed in the Black Belt Division coming in second in forms and first in sparring.

Both represent Botsford's Tae Kwon Do/Karate. The next competition is Nov. 19 in Holdrege.
