Bison JV softball team improves to 8-0

The McCook Bison junior varsity softball team remained unbeaten after Tuesday night's contest with the North Platte Bulldogs.

The Bison won 6-1 in six innings.

The Bison started off the scoring in the second inning, when Hailee Koetter and Bailey Lauer both singled and scored on a fielder's choice.

The Bison had a huge third inning, scoring four runs.

Danae McCorkle and Sarah Craw both singled, McCorkle stole second and third, while Craw stole second base.

Both McCorkle and Craw scored later on a hit by Ashley Carfield and a sacrifice fly by Koetter.

After Kali Lyons walked, Lauer, Courtney Wudtke and Sarah Leitner singled to bring in Carfield and Lyons.

The Bulldogs got their only run in the fifth inning on several passed balls and a base hit.

Kirstie Hiatt did an excellent job on the mound. She struck out 10 North Platte batters in six innings.

Hiatt picked up the win for the Bison, who improved to 8-0.
