LINCOLN -- Marie H. Derr, formerly of McCook, died Tuesday (Aug. 30, 2005) in Lincoln. Her daughter and her grandson were with her when she passed away.
Marie was born to Henry and Marie (Wudtke) Klawonn in Herndon, Kan. She graduated from Herndon Rural High School.
She married Francis Ray Brown, "Jack," and they had one daughter, LaSandra Karen Brown. They divorced and in 1950 Marie married Donald R. Derr in McCook.
Marie was a retail clerk for the Rexall Drug Store in McCook for many years.
She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church before she moved to Lincoln.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Marie Klawonn; her husband, Don Derr; sisters, Frieda Allacher, Amanda Schreiber and Lenora Thomas.
Survivors include her daughter, LaSandra; one grandson, Michael Puls and wife, Kristi; and one granddaughter, Michelle Puls; great-grandchildren, Jackson Louis Puls and Alexandra Marie Puls, all of Lincoln; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook Friday, September 16, 2005, 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
