BENKELMAN -- Leon M. Osborn, 91, died Sunday (Aug. 28, 2005) at the Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman.
She was born Jan. 1, 1914, to Roy W. and Mabel (Kimple) Hall on the family farm near Norman. She attended country schools until the family moved to Clinton, Iowa, in 1924. She was a graduate of Clinton High School in 1932.
She moved to Denver, Colo., in 1943. She then moved to Benkelman in 1944. On Oct. 11, 1945, she married Orian Dale Osborn. In 1954, the couple moved to Fairmont. They returned to Benkelman in 1956.
She worked as a stenographer and bookkeeper until her retirement. She was a member of Eastern Star and of Zion Lutheran Church in Benkelman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mabel Hall; her husband, Dale Osborn in 2000; brother, Harold Hall and his wife, Lucile; brothers-in-law, Harold Knoles and Larry Petersen.
Survivors include her sisters, Alberta Knoles of Benkelman and Merna Petersen of Davis, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Fay Lutz of Benkelman, Elsie Stephenson of Fairmont and Ilene Erdman and husband, Earl of Haigler; brothers-in-law, Bill Osborn and wife, Naomi of Benkelman, Landy Osborn and wife, Phyllis of Chadron and Don Osborn and Lorraine of Benkelman; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in Benkelman with the Rev. George Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at the Benkelman Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, 2-7 p.m., at Forch Funeral Chapel of Benkelman.
Memorials are being accepted in her name.
