Floyd Harold Wesch, 80, died Tuesday (Aug. 16, 2005) at the McCook Community Hospital. He was born July 22, 1925, at McCook, the son of the late Charles and Nellie (Crocker) Wesch. Floyd grew up in McCook and graduated from rural school. He began working as a fireman for the Burlington Railroad and later became an engineer. On Nov. 29, 1950, he entered the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. On June 16, 1956, Floyd married Joanne Thomann at St. John's Lutheran Church in Grinnell, Iowa. He spent his life in McCook. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in McCook, the American Legion and VFW. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Goldt.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Joanne Wesch of McCook; two daughters, Carolyn Skiles and husband, Steve of Seattle, Wash., and Susan Miller of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren; his twin brother, Lloyd Wesch and wife, Carman of McCook; one sister, Marie O'Dea of McCook; and relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be Saturday, Aug. 23, 2005, 2 p.m., at the Peace Lutheran Church in McCook with the Rev. Randy Wahl officiating. Interment will be Monday, 10 a.m., at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell.
