Cory Gaston earns accolades at Roundball Ruckus tourney

Courtesy/Pam and Rod Gaston Cory Gaston, an incoming sophomore McCook High School, was named the Nebraska Future Stars Basketball Player of the Year. He was also was selected as one of 12 All-ASI Varsity Prep Division Ambassador Sports Future Stars at the Roundball Ruckus Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa on July 24.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Cory Gaston, an incoming sophomore at McCook High School, was named the Nebraska Future Stars Basketball Player of the Year.

He was also was selected as one of 12 All-ASI Varsity Prep Division Ambassador Sports Future Stars at the Roundball Ruckus Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa on July 24.

As a member of the Nebraska Tarheels Varsity Prep select team he also competed in the Midwest National showcase July 8-11 in Ankeny, Iowa and in the Lewis & Clark Tri-State Toumament in Sioux City, Iowa on July 17-18 at Momingside College.

Throughout the tournaments, Gaston was the high scoring individual for the team.

Coaches of the eight midwest select teams from Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska made the all star selections.

Cory is the son of Pam and Rod Gaston of McCook.
