CASPER, Wyo. -- Rosemary J. Colling, 84, died Monday (July 25, 2005), at the Valley Care Center in Paradise Valley.
She was born May 4, 1921, at Cambridge, to Thomas and Josephine (Houghnon) Jones. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1938 and taught country school for six years.
On May 25, 1944, she married Bernard Harlan Colling at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola. Following her husband's honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, the couple farmed south of McCook. In 1963 they settled in Sidney where she worked at the Town Talk bread store, Montgomery Ward catalog store; National Land Co.; and Cabela's. The family moved to Casper in 1975.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Tom Colling; a granddaughter; and an infant sister.
Survivors include six sons, Mike Colling of Glenrock, Wyo., Tim Colling of Casper, Jack Colling of Ogallala, Pat Colling and Bill Colling, both of Casper and Bob Colling of Sidney; three daughters-in-law; two brothers, Tom Jones of Lincoln and John Jones of Grand Island; a sister, Agnes Austin of Lincoln; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Casper with the Revs. Paul Colling and August Koeune. Burial will be at the Oregon Trail State Veterans' Cemetery in Evansville.
The vigil is today, 7 p.m., at Newcomer Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
