BEAVER CITY -- Dothen D. Ventling, 87, died Saturday (July 16, 2005) at Beaver City Manor and Assisted Living in Beaver City.
He was born July 1, 1918, at Edison to Loyd & Lizzie (Cline) Ventling. He grew up in Furnas County.
He married Dora Harter on Sept. 1, 1940, at Oberlin.
The couple farmed in Holbrook, Wilsonville and west of Bartley. In 1961, they moved to Beaver City where he worked for Bill Fleming and Rogers Grain Company. He also worked in maintenance at the Furnas County Courthouse and later at Beaver City Plaza.
He attended the Free Methodist Church in Beaver City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dora; sons, Dale and Dothen Eugene; sister, Della; and brother, Orville.
Survivors include three daughters, Joanna Morris of Lexington, Vicki Leonard of Beaver City and Kathy and husband, Eugene Zinsmeister of Lawrence; sister, Dorothy Unger of Cambridge; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Bartley Cemetery with Eldon Robinson officiating.
