BEAVER CITY -- Irene Jacobs, 89, died Monday (July 11, 2005) at Beaver City Manor and Assisted Living in Beaver City.
She was born Nov. 26, 1915, at Beaver City to Glide and Leora Belle (Strickland) Williams. She was baptized at First United Methodist Church in Beaver City. She graduated from Beaver City High School in 1934.
She married Franklin "Jake" M. Jacobs in 1939 at Norton, Kan. They farmed south of Beaver City until moving into Beaver City in 1957. The couple divorced in the mid 1960's.
She moved to Beaver City Plaza in 1985. In 2003 she moved to Beaver City Manor and Assisted Living. She was self-employed doing housework for many families in the Beaver City area.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Don Williams; sister, Beryl Kinsman; and nephew, Ed Kinsman.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Betty Hardin and husband, Tom of Weslaco, Texas; two nieces; and several great nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home, Beaver City, with Bill Weaver officiating. Internment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
