Memorial services for Richard "Dick" Schneider, age 76, of Norfolk, formerly of Beemer, will be Saturday, June 25, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer with Fr. Timothy Podraza celebrating mass. Burial of the cremains will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Beemer. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in Beemer is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Schneider passed away on Monday, June 20, 2005 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Richard Dean Schneider was born June 12, 1929 at Culbertson, to Henry and Helen (Braun) Schneider. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Ann's Catholic Church rural, Hayes Center. He attended Hayes County Rural School and was worked on the family farm prior to marriage. On June 14, 1951, he was united in marriage to Joan Roe at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook. Dick was a real estate broker in McCook for many years. In 1986 the couple moved to Colorado and later moved to Beemer in 1994. While in McCook, Dick was a member of the Elk's Lodge. He was an avid airplane pilot and also enjoyed radio controlled airplanes. Some of his other hobbies included traveling with his wife and woodworking.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Mari and husband Ron Sterr of Dubuque, Iowa, Cheri and husband Kevin Sevier of Denver, Colo., Patti and husband Paul Ludwick of Fort Collins, Colo., Jerry and wife Donna Schneider of Beemer, and Lori and husband Doug Roth of Geneva; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, LaVern and wife Velma Schneider of McCook, Doris and husband Jack Grindinger of Sun City, Ariz., Ron and wife Barb Schneider of Las Vegas, Nev.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; and wife (Joan on June 15, 2000)
