NORTH PLATTE -- A Hotel Pawnee resident, Ryan Blomstedt, 20, has been missing since noon Monday when he walked away from the Great Plains Regional Medical Center after being hospitalized with a drug reaction.

The North Platte Police Department is seeking the public's help in finding the missing man.

Ryan's mother, Sue Blomstedt of Wellfleet, told the Gazette this morning she received a phone call last night from someone who believed Ryan may be heading toward McCook. "We need to find him so we can get him back on his medications," she said.

Ryan is 5'8" tall and weighs 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing baggy blue jeans, a sleeveless denim jacket and might have a gray and black dew-rag (bandana) on his head.

Ryan has dark brown hair that is short, but a little shaggy, and also sports a goatee and mustache. He has dark brown eyes and wears silver wire-rimmed glasses.

Ryan's parent's, Jim and Sue Blomstedt of Wellfleet, are extremely concerned about Ryan, as he is bipolar and has not taken any medication since Monday.

"We've asked all of his friends," Blomstedt said. "We've cruised through the parks, by his friends' homes."

When Ryan left the hospital, he was still attached to heart monitor lines and had an IV line in his arm. He could pass out or have a seizure because he has not taken his medication. He has had two head injuries and is often restless.

"Ryan is very sociable," his mother said, "but he may become anxious, agitated or really hyper without his medications. We need to find him to get him some help."

Anyone who sees Ryan can call his parents at (866) 248-2804, the North Platte Police Department at (308) 535-6789, or the Pawnee at (308) 532-6600.

"He's never gone a night without calling me," his mother said. "I am extremely concerned."
