Myron 'Dale' Overmiller

OBERLIN -- Myron "Dale" Overmiller, 74, died Friday (June 10, 2005), at the Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.

He was born July 20, 1930, to Aurel J. and Estel (Golden) Overmiller. He was raised in Smith Center, Kan. He attended country grade school and Smith County High School.

He served in the Army.

He married Luella I. Greening on Dec. 17, 1950, in Smith Center. They moved to Oberlin July 1, 1960. He worked as a soil conservation technician.

He was a member of the Sappa Valley Antique Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, LaVerna Arment.

Survivors include his wife, Luella of Oberlin; two sons, Lynn Overmiller of Oberlin and Gene Overmiller and wife, Deborah of Goodland; one brother, Verne Overmiller and wife, Carol of Smith Center; one sister, Ruby Peterson and husband, Kenneth of Gretna; and four grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Doug Hasty and Don Argabright officiating. Interment will be at the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to time of service.

A memorial has been established in his name and can be given to the Decatur County E.M.S.

Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of arrangements.
