Timothy and Stephanie Starnes

Stephanie Sue Ankersen and Timothy Christian "Buck" Starnes were married of March 12, 2005 at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook with the Rev. Randy Wahl officiating.

Parents of the couple are Russ and Sue Ankersen of McCook, Heidi and Tommy Couch of Tucker, Ga., and Ken and Betty Starnes of Sharpsburg, Ga. Grandparents of the bride are Bob and Lorelie Ankersen and Richard Calhoon, all of Beatrice; and Margaret Calhoon of Minnetonka, Minn. Grandparents of the bridegroom are Janiece Beinke and Mildred Couch of Marietta, Ga.

Melissa Ankersen, sister of the bride, from Kearney, served as maid of honor. Julie Carello (Bonar), from Hemet, Calif., served as attendant. Steve Starnes, brother of the bridegroom, from Savannah, Ga, served as best man. Ryan Ankersen, brother of the bride, from McCook, served as attendant.

Junior bridesmaids were Shelbi Ankersen of Beatrice and Kaitlyn Calhoon of Esancia, N.M. The flower girl was LeAnn Calhoon of Estancia and the ring bearer was Brock Ankersen of Beatrice. Serving as candlelighters were Madison Plautz of Lincoln and Mikayla Calhoon of Estancia. Ushers were Scott Barry of Omaha, and Jared Plautz of Lincoln. All are cousins of the bride.

Tricia Starnes of Savannah, Andrea McGuire of Warrington, Mo., and Chelsea Akersen of Wymore were gift and guest register attendants. The wedding coordinator was Angie Reiners of McCook.

Special music for the ceremony was provided by a quartet of Russ, Sue, Melissa, and Ryan Ankersen, a duet by Melissa and Ryan Ankersen, the "Key of Gee" Barbershop Quartet, and organ music by Jean Sehnert.

The bride wore a halter style dress made from antique white satin and embellished with lace, pearls and sequins throughout the bodice, skirt and chapel length chain. She wore a tiara that held her double-tiered veil. She carried a bouquet of three dozen white roses wrapped and tied with white satin ribbon. The bridegroom wore a black tuxedo with a silver vest. The wedding colors were silver and dusty lavender.

A reception and dance followed the ceremony. Host couples were Dan and Lori Plautz from Lincoln, aunt and uncle of the bride; and Tim and Bobbi Beinke of Vidalia, Ga., aunt and uncle of the bridegroom. The bride's father's band, "Blackwater Haze," provided music for the dance.

Following their honeymoon in Estes Park, Colo., the couple returned to Germany where they are both sergeants in the Army with the 701 MSB, 1 ID.
