TRENTON -- Inez R. Sydow, 95, died Wednesday (May 18, 2005) at El Dorado Manor in Trenton.
Inez was born June 27, 1909, in Hamlet, to Peter and Rosa (Volkerts) Johnson.
She graduated from Trenton High School in 1929. She attended Kearney State Teacher's College where she earned a teaching certificate through normal training. She taught school for a couple of years.
She married Robert R. Sydow on March 4, 1933, in McCook. To this union three children were born.
She enjoyed being a farmer's wife and mother. Some of her favorite things were taking care of the garden and, of course, all of the animals. Reading western and pioneer books was her favorite past time. The KC Royals baseball team was her team to watch and listen to. She loved country western music but would also listen to gospel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert F. Sydow in 1975; one sister, Mable Holsclaw; great-grandson, Nathan; step-grandson, Terry; and special friend, Millie Fritch.
Survivors include three sons, Victor Sydow of Colo., David Sydow and wife, Doris, Ralph Sydow and wife, Wanda, all of Trenton; Donna Sydow of Spokane, Wash.; sister-in-law Dortha Cleveland of Alliance; eight grandchildren and five step-grandchildren; four nieces and two nephews; and special friend Darlene Woodraska of Trenton.
Memorials can be given in her name.
Funeral services will be at the graveside in Trenton on Monday, May 23, 2005 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fay Ann Blaylock officiating.
Internment will be at the Trenton Cemetery.
Visitation will be today until 5 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. until noon, and Sunday 6-8 p.m.
