ATWOOD -- Gary Martin Mohr, 52, died Monday (May 2, 2005).
He was born Dec. 24, 1952, to Martin and Eleanora Mohr in Wakeeney, Kan. He was raised on the family farmstead west of Wakeeney. He attended elementary school in Collyer, Kan. He graduated from Trego Community High School in 1970.
On June 12, 1976, he married Jeanne Schremmer.
On July 14, 2001, he married Myrna Meis. He moved to Atwood in August of 1976 where he was employed with Worthy Implement. He then managed a Montgomery Ward store in Atwood until it closed. He spent the last 22 years as a salesman for Beaver Valley Supply Company.
He was a member of the Rawlins County Investment Club.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.
Survivors include his wife, Myrna; daughter, Erin Mohr of Lawrence; step-children, Andy and Emily Bougue of Atchinson, Kan., Laura Higley of Salina, Kan., Morgan Higley of Hays, Kan.; parents, Martin and Eleanora Mohr of Wakeeney; one brother, Wayne Mohr of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Kathy and Tony Scaccia of Hastings and Julie and Raymond Bretton of Hutchinson, Kan.
Mass of Christian burial is Friday, 1 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood with the Rev. Damian Richards as celebrant. Interment is in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Atwood.
Visitation is today until 9 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m., to noon at Williams Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be given in his name to the 125th Atwood Anniversary Celebration and to the Rawlins County Health Center.
