ARAPAHOE -- Lorene Frances Butter, 76, died Friday (April 29, 2005) at Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge.
She was born Feb. 14, 1929, to Thomas and Essie (Wiley) Ungles in Bethany, Mo. She attended school in Palisade. After school she helped her mother run the grocery store in Palisade.
On June 26, 1948, she married Paul Everett Butter in Trenton. He husband worked as a mechanic and the couple moved to different towns in Central and Southwest Nebraska. In 1978, they moved to Arapahoe. She worked at the Oxford Cheese Plant in Oxford and then for CA Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe. She also had her own day care center. Her husband died on July 17, 1996.
She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Arapahoe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; son, Donald Ray; infant daughter, Peggy Lou; grandson, Danny Arms; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, William and wife, Betty Butter of Arapahoe; daughter, Linda Arms of Gothenburg; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services are Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at First Untied Methodist Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Don Sailor officiating. Interment will be in Arapahoe Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe.
