Chuck Hogeland of Hayes Center works on the excavation for the basement of the salt building at McCook's new water treatment facility. Hogeland's employer, Korty Construction, of Paxton, will complete the excavation for the salt building and, once the project is complete, will be responsible for grading the roads. City Manager John Bingham said the actual construction on the project will begin soon with separate companies beginning work on the treatment plant building, the four-million gallon water tank, and the water piping.
