Douglas D. Taylor entered his heavenly home Friday, April 22, 2005, at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln after a courageous battle with renal failure.

He was born Oct. 23, 1947, in McCook to Lloyd and Ann (Miller) Taylor Rieger. He graduated from Culbertson High School and earned his doctorate in automobile mechanics at Denver Auto Tech.

On Dec. 30, 1967, he married Linda Leibrandt. To this union two children were born. He worked many years as a carpet mechanic before becoming owner of Video Kingdom.

Doug always enjoyed hunting, fishing, antique cars and collecting guns.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Taylor and step-father, Carl Rieger.

Survivors include his high school sweetheart, Linda Taylor; daughter, Tawnia and husband, Boyd Geisler of North Platte; son, Trevor Taylor and wife, Megan of McCook. He has three grandchildren, Bret, Tyson Geisler and Ainsley Taylor. His mother, Ann Rieger of McCook; sister, Loyann and husband, Gaylin Hartzer of Wauneta; step-sister, Mary Lou and husband, Leon Compton of Valley Center, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.

Doug was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Cremation was chosen as his disposition.

A celebration of Doug's life will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, at the Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with Johnny Walker officiating.

Memorials may be given in his name and left at the funeral home.
