Phinney, Winters wedding

Kristie Phinney and Travis Winters, both of McCook, were united in marriage Oct. 9, 2004, at Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating.

Parents of the couple are Pat and Larry Hall of Agra, Kan., Jim and Patty Phinney of McCook, Vicky and Dan Ground of Juniata and Ken Winter of Indianola.

Grandparents are Avery and Evelyn Winters of Indianola and Twila Carter of Norton, Kan.

The bride wore a white, chiffon, strapless, A-line gown with a Victorian-style bodice. It was embellished with crystals and embroidery, which surrounded the bottom of the dress and scrolled up the front of the dress. She carried a silk bouquet of open roses in fuschia, orange and yellow.

The matron of honor was Carissa Stritt of Kearney, niece of the bride. Bridesmaids were Natalie Rickel of Lexington, sister of the bride, Jeanette Meissinger of Danbury, sister of the bride, and Melissa Sitzman of North Platte. They each wore a black, satin, strapless dress with fuschia trim along the top of the dress. They carried smaller versions of the bride's bouquet.

The personal attendants were Robin Campbell of McCook and Dalyce Moore of Palisade.

The best man was Dustan Biegler of McCook. Bridegroomsmen were Ken Winters Jr., of Santa Cruz, Calif., brother of the bridegroom, Adam Brennan of Cheyenne,Wyo., and Jerod Houghtelling of Indianola.

The flower girl was Nichole Phinney of Grand Island, niece of the bride. The mother of the bride, Patty Hall, made the flower girl's dress, which was satin fuschia dress with spaghetti-straps. The ring bearer was Joshua Winters of Santa Cruz, nephew of the bridegroom and the honorary ringbearer was Baylor Winters of McCook, son of the couple.

Ushers for the ceremony were Dave Phinney of Grand Island, brother of the bride, Matt Borden of Juniata, brother of the bridegroom, Brandon Howell of Lincoln, nephew of the bride, and Kyle Stritt of Kearney, cousin of the bridegroom.

Candlelighters were Trisha Rickel of Lexington and Sarah Phinney of Grand Island, nieces of the bride. They wore fuschia satin, spaghetti-strap dresses, made by the mother of the bride, Patty Hall.

Natalie Rickel, sister of the bride, made all the flower arrangements.

The organist was Chris Lyons of McCook.

The reception was at the Red Willow County Fairgrounds in McCook. Host couples were Marshell and Tracey Sis of McCook and Dennis and Donna Houghtelling of Indianola. The guestbook attendant was R.J. Plas and Kelly Hoffman of Lincoln. Bubble Attendants were Rachel Phinney of Grand Island, niece of the bride, and Victoria Winters of Santa Cruz, niece of the bridegroom. They wore dresses similar to the candlelighters that were made by the mother of the bride. Gift attendants were Aaron Plas and Laura Lyons of Lincoln. Cake servers were Deb Phinney of Grand Island, sister-in-law of the bride, and Patty Winters of Santa Cruz, sister-in-law of the bridegroom.

The couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of McCook High School and is a 1999 graduate of McCook Community College. The bridegroom is a 2000 graduate of Republican Valley High School. The couple are the owners/operators of Nebraska Concrete Coatings, LLC. They are living in McCook.
