IMPERIAL -- Lottie Gengenbach, 85, died Thursday (March 31, 2005) at Chase County Community Hospital following a hip surgery.

She was born Aug. 22, 1919, to Walter and Emma Greinke in Imperial. She attended country school and later graduated from Chase County High School in 1937. She furthered her education at Hastings Business College.

She returned to Imperial where she was an agricultural statistician and clerk at the Chase County ASCS office for 37 years.

On Oct. 3, 1963, she married Harold Gengenbach in Imperial. They lived on the Gengenbach farm southeast of Grant until 1975 when they moved into Imperial.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Luther, Ron and an infant Arno; and one sister, Lousetta Cook.

Survivors include her husband, Harold; one brother, Kermit (Joceline) Lange of Mesa, Ariz.; and one sister, Elsie Newman of Imperial.

Services are Monday, 10:30 a.m., at Grant Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ron Krause officiating. Interment will be in Grant Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
